Riette van der Merwe
Riette is a proud South African who loves our country, its people and the beautiful nature. She therefore spends most of her free time in the bushveld hiking, off-road motor biking and exploring the “off the beaten track” locations of our continent with her husband. When in the mood for some laid-back relaxing a good book is always good company and Bootcamp is her favourite way to rid herself of everyday stress.

Areas of specialisation
Riette specialises in litigation with specific focus on engineering, construction related disputes as well as banking and credit law. She also regularly acts as instructing attorney in arbitration and litigation matters on behalf of consultants involving engineering and construction disputes.
Riette has extensive experience in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution processes and is well versed in conditions of contract applicable to construction and engineering related matters nationally and internationally including the complex nature of the contractual relationships between the employer, engineer and contractor.
